In her studio – a charming wooden cabin tucked away at the end of her garden – Hester creates collagraph prints inspired by nature and the breathtaking landscape of the Yorkshire Dales, where she lives and works. She explores the area on foot, running or walking, and this deep connection with the land and the natural world shines through in her refined, lyrical prints — works that feel like a harmonious blend of illustration, painting, and printmaking.
Hester uses a technique called collagraphy — a form of printmaking in which cardboard plates are built up into layered compositions, inked by hand, and then pressed onto paper.
